The 'Cuvée Docteur Peste' is one of the most prestigious and historic red Grand Cru offerings from the annual Hospices de Beaune wine auction, meticulously matured and bottled by Maison Louis Jadot. This cuvée is named in honor of Dr. Jean-Louis Peste, who dedicated over thirty years of his life caring for patients at the Hospices in the 19th century. Following his legacy, his daughter bequeathed magnificent parcels of Corton Grand Cru vines to the charity in 1924. Sourced from prized south-facing slopes on the Hill of Corton—including parcels in Bressandes, Clos du Roi, and Grèves—this wine represents the pinnacle of muscular, age-worthy Burgundian Pinot Noir. Jadot's master elevage coaxes out the profound depth of these clay-limestone soils, resulting in a wine of immense structure, dark fruit complexity, and velvety power.
