In 1979, seeking to expand beyond the increasingly scarce and expensive vineyards of Burgundy, Maison Louis Latour turned its eyes to the valley of the Ardèche River in the Rhône-Alpes region. Here, they discovered clay-limestone soils remarkably similar to those of Burgundy, combined with a warm, sun-drenched Mediterranean climate. This pioneering venture proved to be a masterstroke, establishing the Ardèche as a premier source for high-quality, accessible Chardonnay. This wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve its vibrant, fresh fruit character, offering a delightful expression of green apple, citrus, and subtle honeyed notes without the heavy influence of oak. It represents a historic bridge between Burgundian expertise and Rhône terroir.
