✨ Technical Specifications
Maison Louis Latour's 'Les Pierres Dorées' is a groundbreaking Pinot Noir born from the unique terroir of the southern Beaujolais region, historically famous for its golden-hued limestone soils. Recognizing the striking geological similarities between these iron-rich, ochre-colored soils and the legendary limestone of the Côte d'Or, Louis Latour embarked on a pioneering quest to plant Pinot Noir in a region traditionally dominated by Gamay. The grapes are harvested from selected parcels in the villages of Morancé and Theizé. The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats and aged in a mix of stainless steel and traditional French oak barrels to preserve its vibrant red fruit character while imparting a subtle, elegant structure. This wine represents a modern renaissance of Burgundian expertise applied to an ancient, sun-drenched terroir.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1797 and rooted in Aloxe-Corton since the 17th century, Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's most historic family-owned wine merchants and domaine producers, managed across more than eleven generations. Headquartered in Beaune, the house holds the largest collection of Grand Cru vineyard acreage in the Côte d'Or, notably including legendary holdings on the hill of Corton such as Corton-Charlemagne and Château Corton Grancey. Renowned for operating its own traditional cooperage and pioneering ventures into regions like the Ardèche and Provence, the maison upholds a classic, terroir-focused winemaking philosophy. Its portfolio is globally celebrated for producing impeccably balanced, age-worthy expressions of Pinot Noir and refined, mineral-driven Chardonnay.
