✨ Technical Specifications
Louis Roederer's Collection 244 represents a brilliant evolution in the historic house's approach to multi-vintage Champagne. Designed to embrace the effects of climate change rather than fight them, the 'Collection' series replaces the traditional Brut Premier, with each edition numbered to represent the blend iteration since the house's founding in 1776. Collection 244 is anchored by the warm, concentrated 2019 harvest, balanced by a significant proportion of Roederer's 'Perpetual Reserve' (established in 2012) and oak-aged reserve wines. This masterful blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier showcases the diverse terroirs of the Marne Valley, Montagne de Reims, and Côte des Blancs. The result is a Champagne of immense depth, marrying vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes with toasted brioche, almonds, and a signature saline minerality derived from the region's ancient chalk soils.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1776 as Dubois Père & Fils and renamed in 1833 by visionary entrepreneur Louis Roederer, Champagne Louis Roederer remains one of the rare independent, family-run prestige Champagne houses, stewarded today by the Rouzaud family. Based in Reims, the house commands over 240 hectares of premier and grand cru vineyards spread across the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, and Vallée de la Marne, distinguished by a profound commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture.
