✨ Technical Specifications

The 2002 Cristal Medallion Jeroboam is an extraordinary monument to Champagne craftsmanship, representing a rare union of haute joaillerie and master winemaking. For this limited-edition release, designer Philippe Di Mo created a stunning, hand-crafted 24-carat gold-plated latticework that envelops the massive three-liter bottle, requiring four days of work by master goldsmiths. Inside is the legendary 2002 Cristal, sourced entirely from biodynamically farmed Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, Valle de la Marne, and Cte des Blancs. The 2002 vintage in Champagne is widely regarded as one of the greatest in modern history, characterized by a warm, dry summer that yielded grapes of perfect health and exceptional concentration. Crafted without malolactic fermentation to preserve its laser-like acidity, and aged extensively on its lees, this prestige cuve offers a breathtaking sensory experience of crystallized citrus, toasted hazelnuts, and deep chalky minerality, magnified by the slow, majestic aging process unique to the Jeroboam format.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in Reims in 1776 and renamed upon Louis Roederer’s succession in 1833, Champagne Louis Roederer stands as one of the region’s preeminent independent, family-owned Grandes Marques. Spanning 250 hectares predominantly situated within Grands and Premiers Crus across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs, the estate prioritizes exceptional estate-owned viticulture. Under Chief Executive Frédéric Rouzaud and long-tenured Chef de Cave Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the house has pioneered large-scale viticultural regenerative transitions, with vast holdings certified organic and farmed biodynamically. The winemaking style combines parcel-by-parcel vinification, judicious large-oak maturation, and blocked malolactic fermentation to preserve chalk-driven tension, textural depth, and crystalline purity. Louis Roederer is internationally renowned for creating Cristal—the iconic prestige cuvée developed in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II—alongside Cristal Rosé, vintage-dated parcel expressions, and the dynamic multi-vintage Collection series based on a perpetual reserve system.
