Originating from the sun-drenched terraced vineyards of Southern France—spanning the steep schist soils of Banyuls, the black marls of Maury, and the limestone of Beaumes-de-Venise—these fortified sweet wines are crafted using the traditional 'mutage' process. This method of arresting fermentation by adding neutral grape spirit was pioneered in the 13th century by the physician and alchemist Arnaud de Villeneuve. Chapoutier, a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture, showcases the diverse expressions of Grenache (Noir, Gris, and Blanc) and Muscat à Petits Grains within this collection.
