The Dos Lusíadas project represents the meeting of two great winemaking traditions: the pioneering spirit of Northern Rhône legend Michel Chapoutier and the dramatic, historic terroir of Portugal's Douro Valley. Named after 'Os Lusíadas', the epic poem by Luís de Camões that celebrates the Portuguese age of discovery, this wine is a tribute to exploration. The Eleivera Tinto is crafted from classic Douro varieties, primarily Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, grown on the steep, schistous slopes of the valley. Chapoutier applies his precise winemaking philosophy to preserve the vibrant, sun-drenched fruit of the region. The result is a red wine that balances the intense, dark berry flavors and wild rockrose (esteva) aromas of the Douro with a refined mineral backbone and elegant structure, avoiding heavy extraction in favor of freshness and drinkability.
