Markus Molitor's Kinheimer Rosenberg Auslese 3*** Goldkapsel represents the zenith of Mosel Riesling craftsmanship. Molitor, who took over his family estate in 1984 at the age of 20, has dedicated his life to restoring the Mosel region to its historic late-19th-century glory, when its wines commanded higher prices than first-growth Bordeaux. The Kinheimer Rosenberg vineyard, characterized by steep, south-southwest-facing slopes of finely weathered blue slate, provides the perfect microclimate for slow ripening and noble rot. The 'Three Stars' designation is Molitor's highest internal quality tier, reserved for lots of extraordinary concentration and complexity, while the Goldkapsel (Gold Capsule) denotes a premium, botrytis-affected sweet style. Hand-harvested through meticulous selection, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and extended lees aging in traditional neutral oak Fuder casks, resulting in a wine of breathtaking tension, exotic fruit concentration, and crystalline minerality.

Founded upon an eighth-generation family viticultural heritage, Weingut Markus Molitor was transformed in 1984 when twenty-year-old Markus Molitor took over the estate at Haus Klosterberg with the dedicated mission of restoring Mosel Riesling to its historic world-class stature. Situated in Bernkastel-Kues in Germany's legendary Mosel region, the winery meticulously cultivates precipitous slate vineyards across renowned grand cru sites such as Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, and Erdener Treppchen. Molitor practices low yields, ultra-selective late hand-harvesting, and gentle spontaneous fermentation in ancient, deep vaulted cellars with minimal intervention. The estate is globally celebrated for its site-expressive Rieslings—distinguished by white, green, and gold capsules indicating dry, off-dry, and botrytized sweet styles—as well as remarkably complex, structured Pinot Noir.
