Markus Molitor's Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese trocken is a masterclass in Mosel terroir and precision winemaking. Hailing from the legendary, dizzyingly steep Zeltinger Sonnenuhr (Sundial) vineyard, named after the historic sundial erected in the vineyard to guide workers, this wine is grown on fractured blue Devonian slate soils. Molitor, famously known for his uncompromising standards, harvests these 100% Riesling grapes extremely late, selecting only pristine, fully ripe berries. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in traditional large oak casks (Fuder) and kept on the fine lees, this dry (trocken) expression—indicated by Molitor's signature white capsule—balances intense, stony minerality with rich, textured stone fruit notes and a vibrant, laser-like acidity.
