The Blue Slide Ranch Pinot Noir is sourced from a dramatic, steep vineyard in the rugged coastal hills of Sonoma County. The vineyard is famous for its distinctive slide of blue clay soil, which imparts a unique mineral signature to the wine. This extreme terroir, shaped by cool maritime breezes, morning fog, and intense afternoon sun, forces the vines to struggle, producing tiny, highly concentrated berries. Martinelli crafts this Pinot Noir using traditional, minimalist methods, including fermentation with wild yeasts and bottling without fining or filtration. The result is a wine of exceptional depth, boasting rich dark fruit aromas, complex earthy undertones, and a velvety texture that reflects the rugged beauty of its coastal origin.

Martinelli Winery blev grundlagt i slutningen af 1880'erne af de italienske immigranter Giuseppe Martinelli og Luisa Vellutini og er i dag en berømmet familieejad vingård med dybe rødder i Californiens Russian River Valley og Sonoma Coast. Gennem mere end et århundrede har familien dyrket historiske, stejle skråninger – herunder de legendariske parceller Jackass Hill og Jackass Vineyard, som blev beplantet helt tilbage i 1887.
