✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted from select estate parcels in the cool-climate pockets of Sonoma County, the Martinelli Pinot Noir Reserve is a testament to the family's multi-generational mastery of Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast terroirs. This cuvée represents a meticulous barrel selection, blending the distinct personalities of their historic vineyards. Influenced by the cooling Pacific fog that creeps through the Petaluma Gap, the grapes undergo a slow ripening process, developing intense phenolic complexity while preserving vibrant natural acidity. In the cellar, the Martinellis honor tradition with minimalist intervention: utilizing native yeasts, aging in French oak barrels, and bottling unfined and unfiltered. The result is an opulent, deeply expressive Pinot Noir, boasting a luscious bouquet of dark wild berries, black tea, and forest floor, framed by velvety tannins.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in the late 1880s by Italian immigrants Giuseppe Martinelli and Luisa Vellutini, Martinelli Winery is a celebrated multi-generational estate nestled in California's Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. For over a century, the family has farmed historically significant, steep hillside sites, most famously the iconic Jackass Hill and Jackass Vineyard planted in 1887. Guided by an uncompromising dedication to estate viticulture and low-intervention winemaking, the winery captures the distinct microclimates and soils of Sonoma County. Martinelli is globally acclaimed for its powerful, old-vine Zinfandels, expressive single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, structured Syrahs, and richly textured Chardonnays.
