🍾 About the Producer
Mascota Vineyards was established in 2010 as a high-end signature project within Argentina's Grupo Peñaflor, shaped under the technical guidance of veteran winemaker Rodolfo 'Opi' Sadler. The estate centers on Finca La Mascota in Cruz de Piedra, an ancient viticultural enclave in Maipú spanning roughly 97 hectares at 850 meters above sea level. Cultivated on deep alluvial clay-loam soils, these semi-arid vineyards benefit from wide diurnal temperature swings, supplemented by cooler high-altitude parcels across the Uco Valley. The viticultural approach follows sustainable estate management aimed at balancing vigor and physiological ripeness. Sadler’s winemaking philosophy fuses modern precision with barrel integration, emphasizing varietal purity, structure, and finesse. While acclaimed for reds like Unánime, Gran Mascota, and Big Bat, the estate demonstrates comparable deftness in whites, crafting benchmark expressions such as La Mascota Chardonnay that showcase vivid orchard fruit, balanced natural acidity, and judicious French oak maturation.
