β¨ Technical Specifications
The cheeky name of this wine hides a wonderful story of rebellion in the cellar. Winemaker Jo Nash discovered an exceptional parcel of Shiraz grapes and decided to craft a premium, small-batch wine using high-quality French oak barrels. Fearing the winery's budget-conscious founder, Gary McPherson, would veto the expensive project, the cellar team kept it a secret, whispering 'Don't tell Gary!' throughout production. When Gary finally tasted the finished wine, he was so impressed by its velvety texture, dark berry concentration, and refined oak integration that he not only approved its release but insisted on keeping the rebellious name. Today, it stands as a testament to winemaker intuition and the expressive potential of Victoria's cool-climate Shiraz.
