McPherson Cellars, located in Lubbock, Texas, is a cornerstone of the Lone Star State's modern wine industry. Founded by winemaker Kim McPherson to honor his father, Clinton 'Doc' McPherson—a legendary pioneer who planted some of the first experimental wine grapes in the Texas High Plains in the 1960s—the winery has become synonymous with high-quality, warm-climate viticulture. The 'EVS' designation pays homage to the Escondido Valley, one of Texas's distinct AVAs characterized by its dry, sun-drenched climate and limestone-rich soils. McPherson's red wines from this region showcase the winery's mastery of Mediterranean and Spanish varieties that thrive in the intense Texas heat. McPherson Wines blev grundlagt i 1993 af Andrew McPherson som en videreførelse af en stolt vinfamiliearv, der går tilbage til 1968. Vingården har hjemme i det naturskønne Central Victoria nær Nagambie i Australien. Med udgangspunkt i generationers passion for vindyrkning kombinerer vinhuset moderne produktionsfaciliteter med bæredygtigt dyrkede vinmarker i Murray Darling- og Goulburn Valley-regionerne.
