Hailing from the wind-swept Texas High Plains, McPherson Cellars' Reserve Roussanne is a testament to the pioneering spirit of the McPherson family. Dr. Clinton 'Doc' McPherson, a legendary figure in Texas viticulture, was among the first to recognize that Rhône grape varieties would flourish in the state's challenging, semi-arid climate. Today, his son Kim McPherson crafts this reserve bottling, highlighting how beautifully Roussanne adapts to the region's high elevation, intense sunlight, and red sandy loam soils. Typically fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak, this wine balances Roussanne's natural richness and oily texture with a vibrant, clean acidity, offering a complex profile of stone fruits, beeswax, and delicate floral notes.
