✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the sun-drenched, alpine valleys of Trentino, Mezzacorona's 'Firmian' Lagrein is a tribute to the region's rich history and the noble Firmian family who once ruled over these mountain passes. Lagrein is an ancient, indigenous grape variety of Trentino-Alto Adige, celebrated since medieval times for its deep color and robust character. Grown in alluvial, gravelly soils along the Adige River, the grapes benefit from dramatic diurnal temperature shifts created by the surrounding Dolomite peaks. Mezzacorona vinifies this wine with traditional skin contact to extract its signature inky hue, followed by a short period of maturation in oak casks. This process softens Lagrein's naturally rustic tannins, resulting in a wine that beautifully balances intense notes of dark mountain berries, wild plums, and subtle hints of cocoa and sweet spice.
