Hailing from the dramatic alpine landscapes of Trentino in northern Italy, Mezzacorona's 'Firmian' Traminer Aromatico pays homage to the historic Castel Firmian, a majestic fortress that has overlooked the Adige Valley since the Middle Ages. Crafted by a historic cooperative founded in 1904, this wine is made entirely from Traminer Aromatico (the local name for Gewürztraminer), a grape deeply rooted in the region's alpine heritage. The vineyards benefit from the unique microclimate of the Dolomites, where intense mountain sunshine during the day is met by cool, refreshing breezes descending from the peaks at night. This extreme diurnal temperature shift preserves the grape's vibrant natural acidity and coaxes out its signature complex aromatics. To maintain its pure, intense fruit character, the wine is fermented and aged entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, resulting in a beautifully expressive white wine defined by notes of white peach, rose petals, lychee, and subtle sweet spices.
