Hailing from the rugged, slate-strewn slopes of Conca de Barberà in Catalonia, Grans Muralles is a liquid monument to Spanish viticultural heritage. Its name pays homage to the ancient stone walls that protected the nearby 12th-century Cistercian Monastery of Poblet. This pioneering cuvée is celebrated for resurrecting forgotten, pre-phylloxera ancestral grape varieties. The Torres family spent decades identifying lost vines, eventually integrating rare grapes like Garró and Querol alongside traditional Cariñena, Garnacha, and Monastrell. Grown on stony, slate-rich soils and aged in fine French oak, the wine exhibits a deep, multi-layered character defined by dark bramble fruit, balsamic undertones, slate-like minerality, and robust, velvety tannins.
