When the historic Spanish winemaking family Familia Torres expanded to Chile in 1979, they became pioneers in modernizing the country's wine industry, introducing stainless steel tanks and temperature-controlled fermentation. This Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, often released under the acclaimed 'Santa Digna' range—named after the stone crosses that marked land borders and protected travelers in historical Chile—is a testament to the exceptional terroir of the Central Valley. Grown in alluvial and clay-loam soils, the vines benefit from the dramatic temperature drops at night caused by cold air descending from the Andes Mountains. This diurnal shift preserves acidity and intensifies the varietal's signature blackcurrant, mint, and balsamic aromas. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for several months to round out its structure, delivering a classic Chilean Cabernet with velvety tannins and a persistent finish.
