✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the high-altitude vineyards of Santa Maria de Miralles in the Upper Penedès region of Catalonia, Mas Borras represents a daring and successful viticultural experiment pioneered by the legendary Miguel A. Torres in the late 20th century. Defying the conventional wisdom that Spain's Mediterranean climate was far too warm for the finicky, cool-climate Pinot Noir grape, Torres sought out elevated parcels up to 520 meters above sea level. Here, cool nights and clay-limestone soils mimic the continental conditions necessary to preserve the grape's delicate acidity and aromatic complexity. Hand-harvested and aged carefully in French oak barrels, Mas Borras Pinot Noir exhibits an elegant profile of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and subtle forest floor nuances, underpinned by a delicate touch of sweet spice. It stands as a testament to the Torres family's spirit of innovation and their historical role in modernizing Catalan winemaking.
