Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage is a singular, free-form creation of the Chef de Cave, representing a departure from the house's signature non-vintage consistency. First released with the 1842 vintage to satisfy the discerning palates of British and American connoisseurs, this cuvée is only produced in years of exceptional quality. Unlike many houses that strive for a consistent vintage style, Moët embraces the unique personality of each harvest. The wine is crafted from the finest grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, sourced from the region's premier and grand crus. It undergoes a prolonged aging period of at least seven years on its lees in the deep chalk cellars of Épernay, followed by a low dosage (typically Extra Brut) to preserve the purity, complexity, and precise acidity of the vintage.
