Part of the innovative 'Adventure' series by Viña Morandé, El Gran Petit is a creative concept that shines a spotlight on two bold grape varieties usually relegated to minor blending roles: Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. The name is a playful nod to these 'petit' (small) grapes that yield an incredibly 'grand' and powerful wine. Sourced from selected vineyards in the Central Valley, the fruit benefits from warm days and cool nights, allowing these late-ripening varieties to develop intense color, robust tannins, and rich black fruit profiles. The winemaking philosophy focuses on capturing this raw intensity while using careful oak aging to smooth out the muscular structure, creating a deeply concentrated, complex, and avant-garde red blend.

Viña Morandé blev grundlagt i 1996 af den visionære vinmager Pablo Morandé, som er almindeligt anerkendt for sin pionerindsats inden for vindyrkning i det kølige klima i Casablanca Valley. I dag rangerer vinhuset blandt Chiles mest innovative og respekterede producenter. Med vinmarker i førsteklasses terroirs på tværs af Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal og Maule forener huset klassisk håndværk med en utrættelig innovationslyst. I kælderen eksperimenteres der flittigt med utraditionelle modningsbeholdere såsom betonæg, keramiske amforaer og store franske egetræs-foudres.
