Hailing from the cool-climate zones of Chile's Aconcagua region, particularly the Casablanca Valley pioneered by founder Pablo Morandé, this Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc is a testament to the estate's innovative spirit. The grapes are left on the vine to undergo a natural concentration process, often influenced by the morning coastal fogs that roll in from the Pacific Ocean, encouraging noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). This slow ripening preserves the grape's naturally high acidity while developing luscious sugars. Fermented and partially aged in French oak barrels, the resulting wine beautifully balances rich, honeyed tropical fruit notes with a bright, clean spine of acidity, showcasing a golden hue and a complex, lingering finish.

Viña Morandé blev grundlagt i 1996 af den visionære vinmager Pablo Morandé, som er almindeligt anerkendt for sin pionerindsats inden for vindyrkning i det kølige klima i Casablanca Valley. I dag rangerer vinhuset blandt Chiles mest innovative og respekterede producenter. Med vinmarker i førsteklasses terroirs på tværs af Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal og Maule forener huset klassisk håndværk med en utrættelig innovationslyst. I kælderen eksperimenteres der flittigt med utraditionelle modningsbeholdere såsom betonæg, keramiske amforaer og store franske egetræs-foudres. Morandé fremstiller en alsidig portefølje af rød-, hvid-, rosé- og mousserende vine, hvor især den toneangivende Gran Reserva-serie, den terroir-drevne Terrarum-linje og flagskibet House of Morandé – et klassisk blend i Bordeaux-stil – udmærker sig.
