The Pionero range from Viña Morandé pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of founder Pablo Morandé, who famously redefined Chilean viticulture by venturing into untested terroirs. Sourced from selected vineyards within Chile's renowned Central Valley, this Merlot captures the essence of the region's Mediterranean climate. Here, warm, sunny days are tempered by cool evening breezes rolling down from the Andes Mountains and in from the Pacific Ocean, allowing the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while preserving their natural acidity. Crafted with a focus on fresh, vibrant fruit expression, the wine is typically fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to maintain its bright varietal character, resulting in a smooth, round, and highly approachable red that reflects the everyday heritage of Chilean winemaking.

Viña Morandé blev grundlagt i 1996 af den visionære vinmager Pablo Morandé, som er almindeligt anerkendt for sin pionerindsats inden for vindyrkning i det kølige klima i Casablanca Valley. I dag rangerer vinhuset blandt Chiles mest innovative og respekterede producenter. Med vinmarker i førsteklasses terroirs på tværs af Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal og Maule forener huset klassisk håndværk med en utrættelig innovationslyst.
