Palmes d'Or is the prestige cuvée of Nicolas Feuillatte, first created in 1985 as a romantic tribute by the founder to an opera singer he admired. The instantly recognizable dimpled bottle, reminiscent of black pearls or a diva's gown, reflects the artistic elegance of the wine inside. This vintage Champagne is typically a balanced 50/50 blend of Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, which provides mineral precision and elegance, and Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, lending structure and rich red fruit character. It undergoes extensive aging on its lees—typically for a minimum of ten years in the chalk cellars—resulting in an incredibly complex, opulent Champagne with notes of toasted brioche, honeyed citrus, and dried apricots, underpinned by a vibrant, chalky minerality.
