Niepoort's Diálogo Tinto is a brilliant testament to Dirk Niepoort's vision of crafting a Douro red that is simultaneously light, fresh, and deeply expressive of its terroir. Sourced from the steep, schistous slopes of the Cima Corgo sub-region, this wine is a classic blend of traditional Portuguese varieties, including Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Amarela. The name 'Diálogo' (meaning dialogue) reflects the wine's convivial spirit, designed to flow easily during long conversations around the dinner table. To preserve its vibrant primary fruit and signature mineral backbone, the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, followed by a brief aging period in neutral French oak barrels. This careful balance of traditional Douro character and modern freshness results in a highly approachable, elegant red that defies the heavy, over-extracted stereotypes of the region.
