Niepoort's Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a testament to the house's dedication to traditional, uncompromising winemaking. While many modern producers filter their LBVs for early, easy consumption, Niepoort famously bottles theirs unfiltered after aging for four to six years in large wooden vats known as balseiros. This traditional method preserves the wine's deep concentration, muscular tannic structure, and remarkable longevity. Sourced from old field-blend vineyards in the rugged Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley—featuring classic varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Roriz—this LBV bridges the gap between the immediate accessibility of a Ruby Port and the profound complexity of a classic Vintage Port.
