✨ wine.spec_sheet

Niepoort's 20-Year-Old Tawny Port is a masterclass in the art of blending and oxidative aging, representing a harmonious marriage of different vintages matured in small oak casks, known as pipes, at the historic lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. The grapes, sourced from old vines in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley, undergo traditional vinification before embarking on their decades-long slumber. Over twenty years, the wine undergoes a slow transformation, shedding its deep ruby color for a brilliant amber-tawny hue. Dirk Niepoort and his blending team meticulously select and combine components to preserve a vibrant core of acidity and freshness, balancing the rich, concentrated flavors of dried apricots, crystallised orange peel, and toasted nuts with a remarkably long, spirituous finish.
