✨ wine.spec_sheet

Niepoort's White Port is a beautiful expression of the Douro's traditional fortified white winemaking, balancing rich wood-aged complexity with vibrant freshness. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards featuring schist soils, this wine is a field blend of indigenous white varieties including Codega, Rabigato, Viosinho, Arinto, and Gouveio. The grapes undergo skin contact before fermentation is halted with grape brandy, followed by aging in small oak casks (pipes) in the historic cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of three years. This traditional process yields a golden-hued port with aromas of dried fruits, citrus peel, and a delicate nuttiness, backed by a lively, off-dry finish. White Port holds a beloved place in Porto's wine culture, historically favored by cellar masters as a refreshing daily dram.
