Nieto Senetiner's Merlot is a beautiful testament to Mendoza's diverse viticultural capabilities beyond its famous Malbec. Sourced from selected vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, where the high altitude brings intense sunlight and cool mountain nights, this wine captures the softer, more velvety side of Argentine reds. The estate's historic clay and loam soils provide an ideal home for Merlot, allowing it to develop lush plum and spice notes while retaining a vibrant, balanced acidity. Traditionally fermented and gently aged in oak, this wine reflects the winery's century-old heritage of crafting elegant, approachable, and structurally sound wines that bridge Old World restraint with New World fruit intensity.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1888 by Italian immigrants in the premier wine-growing region of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Nieto Senetiner is one of Argentina's most historic and prestigious wineries. The estate was acquired by the Nieto and Senetiner families in 1969, who expanded its facilities while preserving its architectural heritage, and it is now part of the Perez Companc Group. Renowned for its deep respect for terroir, the winery crafts exceptional wines from historic vineyards, including the centenarian vines of Finca Villa Blanca planted in 1906. Under the guidance of winemaker Santiago Mayorga, Nieto Senetiner produces elegant, structured wines, most notably their acclaimed Don Nicanor Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and innovative blends that showcase the classic character of Mendoza.
