Ornellaia 'La Vitalità' represents the celebrated 2018 edition of the estate's legendary Bolgheri DOC Superiore, released under their prestigious Vendemmia d'Artista project. For this vintage, Belgian artist Jan Fabre was commissioned to capture the theme of 'La Vitalità' (Vitality) to honor the remarkably vibrant, harmonious, and energetic character of the growing season. Born in the maritime hills of Bolgheri along the Tuscan coast, where ancient alluvial soils, marine clay, and cooling Mediterranean breezes converge, this iconic Bordeaux-style blend typically marries Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately before undergoing meticulous blending and aging for roughly 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by an additional year of refinement in the bottle. This process yields a wine of profound complexity, seamless structure, and a spirited longevity that echoes the artistic vision of its name.
