Sourced from one of the most prestigious and historic sites in the Pacific Northwest, the Owen Roe Seven Hills Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterclass in Walla Walla Valley terroir. First planted in 1980, the Seven Hills Vineyard is situated on the southern side of the appellation, where vines thrive in deep, wind-blown loess soils. This unique terroir imparts a distinct elegance and complexity to the Cabernet Sauvignon, characterized by refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and signature notes of dusty cocoa, dark cherry, and dried savory herbs. Winemaker David O'Reilly employs minimal intervention and traditional small-batch fermentation, followed by meticulous aging in French oak barrels to allow the vineyard's ancient soil signature to shine through. Founded in 1999 by winemaker David O'Reilly and Jerry McNally, Owen Roe was established with a mission to craft world-class, terroir-driven wines from the premier vineyard sites of the Pacific Northwest. Named in honor of the 17th-century Irish patriot Owen Roe O'Neill, the winery operates estate facilities and sources fruit spanning both Washington's Columbia and Yakima Valleys and Oregon's Willamette Valley. Owen Roe champions a low-intervention winemaking philosophy, utilizing gentle handling and thoughtful oak integration to articulate the distinctive character of esteemed vineyards such as DuBrul, Red Willow, and Union Gap.
