Named after the beloved traditional Irish song of farewell and good cheer, 'The Parting Glass' is Owen Roe's exquisite tribute to the classic dessert wines of the Old World. Sourced from select vineyard sites in Washington's Yakima Valley, the Semillon grapes are left on the vine late into the autumn. This extended hangtime allows the berries to dehydrate, concentrating their natural sugars, flavors, and acidity, occasionally encouraged by the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). The resulting nectar is carefully fermented and aged to produce a luscious, golden dessert wine that balances rich, honeyed sweetness with the vibrant, refreshing acidity typical of the region's dramatic diurnal temperature shifts.

Owen Roe blev grundlagt i 1999 af vinmageren David O'Reilly og Jerry McNally med en klar ambition om at skabe terroir-drevne vine i verdensklasse fra de ypperste vinmarker i Pacific Northwest. Vingården er opkaldt efter den irske 1600-tals-patriot Owen Roe O'Neill og råder over egne faciliteter samt opkøber druer på tværs af både Columbia Valley og Yakima Valley i Washington samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Owen Roe arbejder ud fra en filosofi om minimal indgriben, hvor nænsom vinfremstilling og en velafbalanceret fadlagring bringer det unikke særpræg frem fra berømte marker som DuBrul, Red Willow og Union Gap. Huset er særligt anerkendt for sine nuancerede enkeltmarks-vine på Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah og Cabernet Franc samt populære og karakterfulde blends som Sinister Hand, Ex Umbris og Abbot's Table.
