Oyster Bay was one of the pioneering wineries that defined the modern New Zealand wine industry, capturing the world's attention in the early 1990s. While Marlborough is globally famous for Sauvignon Blanc, its cool maritime climate, abundant sunshine, and ancient alluvial river valleys also provide an ideal terroir for Pinot Noir. Oyster Bay's Pinot Noir is crafted to showcase the vibrant, elegant side of the grape. The fruit is sourced from select vineyards in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, where warm days and cool nights preserve natural acidity and intense varietal aromatics. Gentle crushing, cold soaking, and fermentation in open-top fermenters, followed by aging in a combination of French oak barriques and stainless steel, result in a wine defined by fragrant red cherry, sweet plum, and delicate spice notes.

Oyster Bay blev grundlagt i slutningen af 1980'erne og er ejet af Delegat Group. Huset opnåede international stjernestatus, da dets allerførste årgang 1990 vandt det prestigefyldte Marquis de Goulaine-trofæ for bedste Sauvignon Blanc ved International Wine and Spirit Competition i London i 1991.
