Les Grandes Terrasses is a masterful expression of Cornas, a legendary Northern Rhône appellation known for its dramatic, sun-drenched granite amphitheaters. The name itself pays homage to the dizzyingly steep, stone-walled terraces carved into the hillsides, where Syrah vines must cling to the decomposed granite soils, locally called gore. Historically, Cornas was highly prized by French royalty, and Jaboulet's rendition captures this rugged, majestic heritage. Crafted from 100% Syrah harvested entirely by hand due to the extreme slopes, the wine undergoes traditional vinification and is aged in oak barrels to soften its powerful, wild character. It reveals the classic Cornas signature of dark bramble fruit, cracked black pepper, smoked meats, and an intense mineral drive, representing a perfect bridge between rustic power and modern refinement.
