Hailing from the steep, granite-terraced slopes of Gervans in the northern reaches of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, Paul Jaboulet Aîné's 'Domaine de Roure' (often referred to simply as Roure) is a masterclass in terroir-driven Syrah. Acquired by the historic Jaboulet estate in 1996, this exceptional property benefits from a unique microclimate and ancient soils that set it apart from the flatter, alluvial plains of the southern part of the appellation. The vines, some of which are over 40 years old, cling to high-altitude granite hillsides, imparting a profound mineral tension, structure, and aromatic complexity akin to neighboring Hermitage.
