While Penfolds is historically famous for its multi-regional blending philosophy, Bin 150 is a deliberate departure, celebrating the microclimate and unique character of this specific pocket of South Australia. The wine is traditionally aged in a combination of French and American oak using both hogsheads and larger puncheons to frame its intense dark fruit profiles, savory complexity, and fine-grained tannins, offering a modern yet deeply rooted expression of classic Barossa Shiraz.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder.
