Penfolds Bin 7 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz is one of the most legendary and elusive 'Special Bin' wines in Australian wine history. Most famously released as the mythical 1967 vintage, this wine represents the pinnacle of Penfolds' historic multi-regional blending philosophy pioneered by Max Schubert. It combined exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra with rich, robust Shiraz from the Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Aged in premium oak hogsheads, Bin 7 was crafted as a show-stopping exhibition wine that exemplified the synergy of South Australia's two signature red grapes. Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder.
