Penfolds' legacy is deeply rooted in fortified wine production, a tradition that predates their famous dry reds. The Bluestone Grand Tawny pays homage to this heritage, named after the historic bluestone cellars at Magill Estate where Penfolds' earliest wines were matured. Crafted using a solera-like system of fractional blending, this tawny is aged in small oak casks, resulting in an average age of approximately ten years. The slow, controlled oxidation in South Australia's warm climate coaxes out rich, complex flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and integrated spirit, showcasing a style that has been a cornerstone of the Australian wine industry since the 19th century.

Founded in 1844 by Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary at the Magill Estate in South Australia, Penfolds is one of Australia's oldest and most iconic wine producers.
