The 2010 Grange represents a monumental milestone in the history of Australia's most celebrated wine, marking the 60th consecutive vintage release of this legendary label. The 2010 growing season in South Australia was nothing short of spectacular, characterized by optimal winter rainfall and a mild, warm spring that allowed for slow, even ripening. This vintage is a masterclass in multi-regional blending, sourcing fruit predominantly from the Barossa Valley, alongside components from the Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, and the historic Magill Estate. Composed of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine underwent fermentation in stainless steel before being matured for 17 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads. This meticulous process has forged a wine of immense power, structural integrity, and profound complexity, carrying the legacy of Max Schubert's original vision into a modern masterpiece.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse.
