Penfolds Max's Chardonnay is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Max Schubert, Penfolds' chief winemaker from 1948 to 1975, whose daring spirit and pursuit of excellence forever changed the landscape of Australian wine. While Schubert is globally celebrated for his red wine masterpiece, Grange, this contemporary white wine honors his legacy of innovation. Sourced from select cool-climate vineyards across South Australia, the wine is crafted to showcase a modern, elegant expression of the varietal. It undergoes a combination of stainless steel and seasoned French oak maturation, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation to build texture. The result is a beautifully balanced Chardonnay that marries vibrant stone fruit and citrus flavors with a subtle, creamy complexity and a crisp, clean finish.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse.
