Named in honor of Thomas Hyland, the pioneering son-in-law of founders Christopher and Mary Penfold, who helped propel the winery from a boutique medical dispensary into a national icon during the late 19th century. This Shiraz is crafted in the classic Penfolds multi-regional blending style, sourcing premium fruit from across South Australia's renowned wine regions. It showcases the signature Penfolds character: rich, dark fruit flavors, subtle warm spices, and a structured yet approachable palate shaped by careful maturation in oak barrels. Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder.
