Named in honor of the historic Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) pilgrimage route that has traversed the rolling hills of Gascony for centuries, Chemin Des Pelerins Blanc captures the spirit of hospitality offered to weary travelers. Crafted by the renowned Plaimont cooperative in the sun-drenched South-West of France, this white wine is sourced from vineyards nestled in the Pyrenean foothills. The terroir, characterized by a mix of clay, limestone, and sandy soils known locally as boulbènes, imparts a signature crispness and lively minerality to the wine. Historically, monasteries along the pilgrim path cultivated vines to produce refreshing, low-alcohol wines for travelers. Plaimont continues this legacy, utilizing cool fermentation techniques in stainless steel tanks to preserve the bright, expressive fruit aromas and zesty acidity that define the classic, uplifting style of Gascon white wines.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne.
