Named in honor of the legendary musketeer d'Artagnan, who was born in the heart of Gascony, the Fleur d'Artagnan Rouge captures the spirited, generous, and bold character of its historic homeland. Crafted by the pioneering Plaimont cooperative, this red wine is sourced from select vineyards nestled in the undulating hills of the Pyrenean foothills within the Côtes de Gascogne. The terroir, characterized by a mix of clay, limestone, and sandy-silt soils, benefits from a unique microclimate influenced by both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees, ensuring warm days and cool nights that preserve freshness. The blend typically marries the structure and deep color of Tannat—the region's signature grape—with the fleshy, approachable fruitiness of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to emphasize bright, juicy fruit and supple tannins, this wine is designed to be approachable, vibrant, and highly convivial.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne.
