Plaimont's Petit Balon Rosé is a vibrant tribute to the joyful, lighthearted art-de-vivre of Gascony in South-West France. Sourced from the rolling, sun-drenched hillsides of the Pyrenean foothills, this rosé captures the breezy, celebratory spirit of the region. The name itself evokes a sense of weightlessness, mirroring the wine's bright, uplifting character. Crafted by the visionary winemakers of the Plaimont cooperative—famed champions of South-West France's ampelographic heritage—this cuvée is produced using gentle direct pressing and cool fermentation to preserve its delicate pale-pink hue and intense, fresh red-fruit aromatics. The local terroir, characterized by a mix of clay-limestone and sandy soils influenced by both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees, imparts a signature crisp acidity and a refreshing, clean finish that defines the classic Gascon style.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne.
