The Rive Haute range by Plaimont captures the vibrant, sun-drenched spirit of Gascony, the historic homeland of d'Artagnan and the Musketeers. Grown on the rolling clay-limestone slopes that rise above the Adour river basin, this red blend beautifully marries the international appeal of Merlot with the rustic, deeply colored Tannat—the legendary indigenous grape of South-West France. While Merlot contributes luscious red berry flavors, fleshy roundness, and immediate charm, Tannat provides a spine of structure, deep blackberry notes, and a touch of wild spice. Plaimont's cooperative growers utilize thoughtful, sustainable viticulture to preserve the rich biodiversity of the Pyrenean foothills, resulting in an approachable yet characterful red that embodies the convivial, generous nature of Gascon dining.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne.
