Founded in 1849 by Pol Roger in Aÿ before establishing its historic cellars along Épernay's Avenue de Champagne in 1851, Champagne Pol Roger remains one of the preeminent family-owned Grandes Marques. The house oversees approximately 92 hectares of sustainably farmed estate vineyards across the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, and Vallée de la Marne, rooted in quintessential Campanian chalk and limestone soils. Pol Roger is renowned for vinifying exclusively in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with systematic double débourbage à froid and full malolactic conversion, preserving pristine varietal fruit and crisp structure. Aging takes place in deep, chalk-carved cellars reaching depths of 33 meters, where prolonged cool secondary fermentation produces exceptionally fine perlage, complemented by traditional hand-riddling.
