Prunotto's Costamiole is a distinguished expression of Barbera d'Asti, sourced from the highly acclaimed Costamiole vineyard in Agliano Terme. Historically, Barbera was regarded as the everyday wine of Piedmontese farmers, but through meticulous single-vineyard selection and modern winemaking, Prunotto elevated it to a noble status. The vineyard's unique terroir—characterized by clay-marl soils and excellent sun exposure—imparts remarkable concentration and structure to the grapes. After a careful fermentation process, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for approximately 12 months, a technique that beautifully tempers Barbera's naturally vibrant acidity with refined tannins, resulting in a rich, velvety red boasting complex notes of dark cherry, plum, sweet spices, and toasted oak.

Established in 1923 when Alfredo Prunotto acquired the cooperative 'Ai Vini delle Langhe,' the Prunotto winery is situated in Alba, in the heart of Italy's Piedmont region. Under the stewardship of the Antinori family since 1989, the estate has consistently championed the diverse terroirs of the Langhe and Monferrato hills. Prunotto balances traditional Piedmontese winemaking practices, such as aging in large oak casks, with modern precision to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines. The winery is celebrated for its exceptional single-vineyard expressions, including the Barolo Bussia and Barbaresco Bric Turot, alongside classic regional styles like Nebbiolo d'Alba Occhetti and Roero Arneis.
