✨ wine.spec_sheet

The 'Moonlighters' name pays homage to the founding spirit of RedHeads, celebrating the rebellious winemakers who spent their days working at large corporate estates, only to sneak away under the cover of darkness to craft their own passion projects. This Sparkling Red is a vibrant, effervescent tribute to that late-night dedication. Sourced from premium South Australian vineyards, it captures the rich, bold, and juicy characteristics of classic Australian red varietals, re-imagined through traditional sparkling winemaking techniques. The result is a wonderfully dark, frothy, and complex sparkling wine that balances intense dark berry flavors with a touch of spice and a lively, refreshing finish.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 2002 in McLaren Vale by Tony Laithwaite as a collaborative studio for rebellious winemakers, RedHeads has since evolved into a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly winery located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Operating from its custom-built, solar-powered facility in Nuriootpa since 2019, the winery is dedicated to rescuing small, premium parcels of grapes from independent growers to craft expressive, small-batch wines. RedHeads is celebrated for its highly characterful, narrative-driven labels, producing acclaimed reds and whites such as the Dogs of the Barossa Shiraz, Whip-Hand Cabernet Sauvignon, and Esule, which showcase the diverse terroirs of South Australia with minimal intervention and maximum personality.
