Hailing from the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard in the cool Saar valley, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt's Riesling Eiswein is a rare masterpiece born of extreme nature. To craft this liquid gold, brave pickers must harvest the grapes by hand in the freezing dark of winter mornings, only when temperatures plummet to at least minus seven degrees Celsius. Pressing the frozen grapes coaxes out a highly concentrated nectar of intense sweetness, perfectly counterbalanced by the Saar's signature electric acidity. The deep, weathered slate soils of Scharzhofberg infuse the wine with a profound, crystalline minerality, resulting in a sensory profile rich with candied citrus, honeyed apricot, and exotic spices, wrapped in a legendary tension that allows it to age gracefully for generations.
